Choosing an LED face mask
Déesse PRO LED face masks pair clinically derived light wavelengths with Korean medical device engineering. Each full-coverage mask uses pharmaceutical-grade LEDs tuned to specific wavelengths, delivering light therapy to the entire face in short, consistent sessions. LED light therapy is non-invasive and pain-free: it stimulates natural biological processes within the skin without heat or UV, and it is suitable for all skin types and tones (Fitzpatrick I to VI).
What each wavelength does
Red light (630nm) is the rejuvenating wavelength: it stimulates collagen and elastin in the dermis and helps improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, elasticity and firmness. Blue light (415nm) is the purifying wavelength, helping to improve skin clarity and the appearance of blemish-prone skin. Green light is the brightening wavelength, acclaimed for its ability to calm, even out skin tone and help skin look brighter and more balanced. Near-infrared light (830nm) is invisible to the naked eye and penetrates deepest, improving skin texture and firmness; PRO pairs it with red and blue light in the Post Procedure mode.
How to use an LED face mask
Gently cleanse your face so there is no residue on the skin, which can act as a barrier to the light. Once the skin is dry, put the mask on and select your treatment mode. A PRO session takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on the mode; Express treatments take 3 minutes. Afterwards, apply your serum, moisturiser and sunscreen as usual. We recommend 2 to 4 sessions a week: an intensive course is 12 treatments over eight weeks, then weekly, fortnightly or monthly maintenance. There is no additional benefit in exceeding the recommended time or frequency.
Safety
Déesse PRO masks are CE certified, do not generate heat or UV, and are tested to EN62471, the eye-safety standard for LED lamps. Each mask comes with medical-grade silicone protective eye inserts. Do not use an LED mask if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are under 14; if you suffer from light-induced headaches, a genetic or photosensitive condition of the eyes or skin, lupus erythematosus, photosensitive eczema or albinism; or if you take medication that can cause photosensitivity. Do not share your device, and speak to your practitioner if you are unsure.
PRO, Express or Sculpta: which to choose
PRO is the original hard-shell LED mask: 770 LEDs, four wavelengths and six treatment modes covering rejuvenation, purifying, brightening, calming and post-procedure care. Choose it for the widest range of skin concerns.
Express is the portable, battery-operated mask with red and near-infrared light in a single rejuvenating mode, designed for 3-minute treatments at home or when travelling.
Sculpta is a dual-ended handheld device rather than a mask: its TriGen technology combines EMS, radio frequency and red LED light to redefine facial contours, firm muscle tone and support lymphatic drainage on the face and body.
EOS-X is the latest-generation professional device, combining the full wavelength spectrum with upgraded ergonomics and a quieter power unit.
LED face mask FAQs
Usage, safety and choosing between PRO, Express and Sculpta.
How often should I use an LED face mask?
We recommend using your chosen treatment mode 2 to 4 times a week for optimum results. An intensive course is 12 treatments: two a week for four weeks, then one a week for four weeks, followed by weekly, fortnightly or monthly maintenance. The number of treatments needed depends on your skin concern and its severity, age and lifestyle, and there is no additional benefit in exceeding the recommended time or frequency.
How long does an LED mask treatment take?
PRO treatment modes run for 10 to 20 minutes (adjustable from 5 to 30 minutes), with the Rejuvenating Express mode taking 10 minutes. Express is designed for 3-minute treatments.
Is LED light therapy safe?
Yes. Déesse PRO masks are CE certified, non-invasive and pain-free, and they do not generate heat or UV, so they cannot damage skin tissue. LED light therapy is suitable for all skin types and phototypes (Fitzpatrick I to VI). Check the contraindications above before use, and speak to your practitioner if you have a medical condition or take photosensitising medication.
Do I need eye protection?
Each mask comes with medical-grade silicone eye inserts for comfort, and the devices are tested to EN62471, the eye-safety standard for LED lamps. Protective goggles are also included with PRO should you wish to use them.
Can I use an LED mask alongside my skincare?
Yes. LED light therapy is compatible with most normal skincare routines. Cleanse before your session so there is no residue on the skin, then apply your serum, moisturiser and sunscreen afterwards; the light improves tissue oxygenation and blood flow, which helps skincare absorb.
What is the difference between PRO, Express and Sculpta?
PRO is the flagship LED mask with four wavelengths and six treatment modes. Express is a portable mask with two wavelengths, red and near-infrared, for quick 3-minute treatments. Sculpta is a handheld face and body device that combines EMS, radio frequency and red LED light.
Can I use an LED mask when pregnant?
We do not recommend using an LED mask at any stage of pregnancy, or while planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. There have been no studies of light therapy on pregnant women, so the risks are unknown.
